Error 1327 The drive is invalid when installing QuickBooks
ID: 4888 Category: Accounts - Business Range - Desktop & Hosted (previously QuickBooks) Status: Resolved Views: 1973

Question:

Why can’t I install Reckon Accounts Business (formerly QuickBooks)?  I get the error:  Error1327. “The drive [X:] is invalid”.

Solution:

You may experience this error when the drive listed in the error message is unavailable during the installation. This could happen if your computer becomes:

·         disconnected from a network drive;

·         because of the removal of a portable storage device, such as a USB stick.

·         You do not have sufficient permissions to access the drive

Workarounds

If you have removed a portable storage device from your system, reconnected it, and then try to install again.

If the problem persists, login as the built-in Administator;

To turn the built-in Administrator on and off:

1.    Open the command prompt

2.     To turn on type:  net user administrator /active:yes

3.    Install Accounts Business
